Biography
Chinese-German artist, producer and DJ Mona Yim fuses elements of house, garage, drum & bass, techno and pop across her music and DJ sets.
Her touring has taken her to leading venues and festivals including Sónar, Printworks, Drumsheds, DGTL, UFO Velodrome, Parklife, Lost Village, Tomorrowland, Warehouse Project, O2 Brixton Academy and Pacha. She has become a favourite among artists such as Barry Can’t Swim, Kelly Lee Owens, Confidence Man, Solomun, DJ Seinfeld, Ben Böhmer, Hot Chip and JPEGMAFIA who have invited her to join them for headline shows.
Alongside her DJ career, she has released music on Ninja Tune, Mad Decent, Rekids and WHP Records, with new EPs, singles and collaborations scheduled for 2026. She also hosts her own residency on renowned British radio station Rinse FM.
As a producer, Mona has worked on three No.1 albums in Germany, won Sony Music’s Female Producer Prize, and received a nomination for an Annie Award. Her collaborations include artists such as Shirin David, Ski Aggu and Zartmann, while her work increasingly spans international A-list talent.
Beyond the club space, she has worked across film, gaming and corporate sound design.
With a background in classical music, Mona began playing violin at the age of three, later winning first and second prizes at the national competition Jugend musiziert. Alongside this, she trained in ballet and modern dance, touring and competing internationally from an early age.
